Performance bag for the buck
It seems clear that backdating the exhaust is the best way to improve performance. Given a fixed budget, where would you focus other performance enhancements for the best bang? What about handling? I have a 79 SC and would like to autocross with it but also have to commute through one of the 12 worst traffic jams in the country.
Thanks; these discussions have been invaluable. |

If you e.mail me at anagy@karlsberger.com, we can discuss the possibities endlessley. I have a 1983 911SC since new, and have done most things that can be done without increasing the displacement; in fact all things done can be reversed, and thus re-sale is protected. I have one of the fastest cars on the track (for the class; does fourth at the Parade qualify?), and thus feel we have performed all the right things, with very little cost. Yes, I did all the work (except the injection and alignment mods) so that helped. But this is a subject dear to my heart, since I think a lot of folks out there spend far too much money for too little margin of improvement. Write me; I love to discuss my expereinces. |
