'88 Club Sport ft valence & C2 rear spoiler balanced ?

I have Souk's C2 rear elec spoiler and want to balance the car with a nice front valence and a chin spoiler IF necessary. I found a thread in which member Crachian posts info and pics.

Where to get Carrera lower valence with no fogs...?

Does anyone know if this is doable?
Crachian has a spoiler that's more effective than the C2 rear spoiler so as of now I think it's doable but he never commented on the effectiveness of the Club Sport valence.

Then there is the narrow chin spoilers and the wide chin spoilers.
If the Club Sport valence is doable can I only use the narrow chin spoiler?

thx guys

First pic is Crachian's car and the 2nd is GeorgeM valence and wide chin spoiler which I now have. If I can use the thin chin spoiler that would be great.

Yeah, I'd put on that front valence/air dam and be done with it.
If it were my car, I wouldn't have the C2 rear, but that is mainly a matter of personal taste. Plus, it stands to reason that a Carrera tail would be a better setup -

thx guys.

The C2 tail is all I need for cross country rides.

I figure that the wide spoiler would be fine.. but

Do you think I could get away with the thin lip spoiler ?

Absolutely. The C2 rear would match well with that front -

????

Wide chin spoiler ????

Thin chin spoiler ?????

What the heck is everyone talking about? I know of a "thin" ( let's say SC/Carrera style) front lip spoiler and possibly a "wide" ( meant for Turbo front end and Turbo front fenders) spoiler...but that's about it !

RoninLB..both pics you show seem the same to me in terms of rubber spoiler.

Info please !!!

Yeah I was a bit confused too - I say just attach the SC/Carrera front with the C2 rear and you are finito

sorry I'm not clear... again

both pics have the 930 wide spoiler but it's different as it'll fit non turbo valences.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300006987593&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:12

There is a thin/narrow lip spoiler that doesn't extend up the sides of the valence.

I want to know if I can get away with the thin spoiler w/ the C2 rear one as I like the car as low key as possible.

thx for your patience.

RoninLB:

AFAIK...the pic ( both pics you show, actually, and also looking at the ebay link) is a "regular" front chin spoiler as used by narrow body SC's and Carrera's.

The only other spoiler that looks even remotely like this is the one used for the Turbo, and the rubber extends back/up to take the place of the small metal sheet metal piece that normally resides behind the bellows of a narrow car. That piece is easily discernable in the white car pic. The turbo rubber extends up to take the place of that small metal piece ...and mates up to a Turbo fender properly.

So...in summary, there are only two spoilers...SC/Carrera...and Turbo. I don't a see a wide or narrow varient for the SC/Carrera.

Isn't this correct ??? You say "both pics have the 930 wide spoiler"... I respectfully disagree, they are both the same and they are both SC/Carrera ( narrow).

- Wil

EDIT--> look into the embedded photos of my earlier post, here-->
Anyone used a Turbo front spoiler on narrow car?

ok.. then there is only one SC/Carrera spoiler available and the thin spoiler, about 1.5in, that didn't climb the sides is an aftermarket bs setup that I saw once in Calif..

I'll face reality and do the SC/Carrera spoiler.

thx all

I just found the small rubber ft spoiler at Restoration Design for $29.95, pn# P233

http://www.restoration-design.com/

and I also found out that the '88 Carrera Club Sport valence is the same as my dinged/dented stock valence without fog holes.

initially I thought the Club Sport valence had more of a spoiler effect than my stock one.

I'll use the SC/Carrera spoiler and hit the paint shop..

Ron, are you sure that's rubber "lip"? Looks like the sheetmetal on the bumper to me.

Ron, in reply to your email, I have no idea. I'm still in the S spoiler duck tail era. I'd listen to BV. Or Craig. Or Wil. Or back to BV, he's played around with this a bit, me thinks.

.....or even chillicar, he's got the right idea.

I didn't call Restoration Design to ask.

I've seen them before on stock looking 911's. They are very thin rubber and always look chewed up IF it's the same unit that they sell.

I really should have a real front spoiler to match the C2 rear spoiler.

The only things I know on this topic is it's a good idea to put Por-15 or Naval jelly in any holes you drill, and if installing the rubber chin spoiler get the $50 bag of attachment hardware from Pelican, make sure you get the written instructions with it too.

greetings..

If I had driver info of the C2 & narrow spoiler that would rock. I can also experiment. The narrow short spoiler is only $29.95 and the SC/Carrera spoiler is sitting downstairs. The best experiment is to install the SC/Carrera spoiler and see how she feels max. I’ll make sure the side holes are sized to hardware store size rubber plugs, use Por-15, the mounting kit I have, etc . That would be a good comparison on the narrow small spoiler. Did I say I don’t like the look of the wide spoiler.

Fun starts Monday when I hit the body supply place for metalic bronzish brown/whatever it’s called to shoot the damaged valence and hood, and I should do the bumper. It has gold flake and If I shoot right it’ll be perfect. Need a pt sample.. or 2.. or 3. Once gallons of urethane primer.. and Imron paint. and Imron clear are here Then RS flares become an option.

And maybe the narrow will be good enough for dealing with local post 11pm wild hy driving and the SC/Carrera will be best for spending 60hr/week with driving around the country. Sooner or later I’ll search around pelican for hard text lift info after I buy a book.

Btw… 21/27 t-bars

18.8 x2 sway bars [I need 20 or 22 front only]
bilstein
steering kit
S-03 205 x 55 x 16 x 6” x 4
Welt bushings x 4

Thx all
