Can the option codes sticker on the underside of the hood be replaced? Would it be available from Porsche after providing the VIN # and proof of ownership?
Does anyone offer a worthy reproduction?

heres the gig...............find a sign a rama. i kid you not. reason they will more than likely have the software and a hand scanner or quality digital camera to scan or take a pic of it. ask me how i know???? had to have carrera tail and lid, so after mega bucks spent and installed, my smog (silver sticker-long) with all sorts of info on it was on my old lid. so i went to my buddies sign a rama and he hand scanned and took digital pic. 3 days later and i think $100 bucks(yeah my buddy) i had 3 of them. one went on my car and believe it or not a guy in australia needed one to state all the 1987 smog crap info since he had to pass australian federal smog crap since car was being imported into country. i made a friend for life on that one. good luck

I am always very careful with these original factory marks.
In Europe the presence of the original sticker is often seen as proof that the car never incurred serious front damage. I would go either way: - block the sticker with a square piece of paper taped to the backside of the hood to prevent it from being painted; you will preserve the original sticker als 1/2" or so of the original paint around it (my 1st choice) - make a scan of the identical sticker in the car-manual if you still have that and make a good copy of it (my 2nd choice) |
