Fender Flares-How Doyoudoit?

Can anyone tell me the accepted method for attaching steel rear flares (say SC size) to a '70 body? and how do most people finish the joint? Thanx, adgx

the proper way is to cut out what you are replacing (sawzall or plasma) and butt weld the new flare on to the quarter. (sometimes tricky to get the new flare positioned correctly if a big turbo flare.) then fill with lead. if you use bondo, make sure bodywork is EXCELLENT and used sparely, otherwise it will flex, crack and look real bad.
