Earthquake and our 911 community
It occurs to me that we have many of our 911 Forum members in earthquake country (re. Bay Area today). How about our California friends picking someone on the Forum that you know and lives in another part of the country (world) to be your emergency family contact point. Easy to do, just exchange phone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses.
I suspect if something happens in LA the PP server might go down. We could agree what site to move to. I suspect had everyone (Porsche) in New Orleans done this, the Katrina disaster might have been easier to endure. After a bit perhaps this should go OT? Best, Grady |

Good idea Grady. It would be quite horrible that we have built such a great community to lose touch should a disaster happen. I am a small time member compared to some with so many posts.

The next big one is projected to be around Paso Robles. A 8.0 or larger from what they say. It's going to knock out the central coast and most of central valley if that's the case.
I'll volunteer for whatever is set up. |

You guys can come to Florida when you have an earthquake - we'll come to CA when we have a Hurricane.
Maybe we should just all meet in Memphis - didn't FEDEX determine they had the lowest % of severe weather days in the country?

We can go to Kansas, but they have tornadoes. We can go to Egypt but they have locusts. Ok I'll stop being sarcastic, this can potentially be a serious issue and we need to focus on California as the original author intended.

Grady,
Kudos to you for turning the world into a better place via the Pelican Parts forum! Seriously, cool idea! I hope someone would / will adopt me and my wife and our 911! We'd be glad to assist some Pelican family in need. JereymyD - you could work for me and vice versa, given some natural disaster ![]() ![]() Doug
