Removing turn signals
Tried a search on the subject to no avail...
Just bought a 1973 911 Targa (European version - carbs) Preping for paint... I've pulled all the screws on the front turn signals and now they are dangling by the wire conduit. Is there an easy way to remove the turn signal unit from the conduit? Or the conduit from the connector that goes into the trunk... its evading me. ![]() |

Open your trunk, you'll see two electrical plugs right in front of the battery boxes on both sides. Unplug them. the female socket will still be on the body. Squirt with a bit of WD40 and push them through, you may want to use a small blade screw driver to work the rubber lip into the hole. There may be some other wires connected to the light harness, such as the horns etc. Just unplug them and you're done. Good luck, Allan

Gearbox...
Thanks for the rundown... saved me from screwing something up. Now to get the bottom screw on the headlight ring to start turning... if its not one thing, its another.
