MFI pumping gas into case -- cause?

My friend boldly went where I sure wouldn't -- he opened up and tried to revive a 2.4 MFI pump. He freed the little pistons and the rack and got it working... somewhat. Installed back on the engine, it works, on 4/5 cylinders (we suspect a dead injector nozzle).

But it's shooting fuel into the breather hose from the pump to the case. And now the oil is contaminated with gas.

He can't see anything he's done that would cause that.

Anyone?

Tadd was working on one too, check out that thread. I believe we had general agreement that there are several seals and gaskets that need to be refreshed before reassembly. I haven't opened mine up until I can sourse these. Thats my guess as to what your issue is. Stop driving it till its figured out.
Good Luck and let us know what you find.
Cheers,
Nabil
