strange interference.....

My car temp. reads 115 c, when I step on the clutch pedal it falls to 100 c. and when I take my feet out it returns to the 115 c. And only hapens when its above 100 c.
my car is a 76 911 s, so since its a plain mechanical clutch, how could this hapen?
And I don't know if I'm running at 115 c or 100 c?

Could be your clutch linkage may have worn a bare spot on the wire to you temp sending unit.

When the engine is cold, the linkage may not be coming in contact with it, but as the engine warms and everything expands, it maks contact. That may explain why it happens after the engine is warm.

You might want to see if you can trace your wire back through the engine compartment to see if that could be the problem.

Regards

Steve
