Anyone put a later front swaybar on an early 911?

I have a front swaybar from an '85 Carrera. Is there an easy way to make it fit on my '69 T? I know the through body swaybar is the way your supposed to go on this year of car, but thought I'd ask if anyone has used a bar from a later 911. My control arms do have the swaybar brackets.
Thanks,
Zach

You're into self-flaggellation?

It looks easier than said. Ask how many late owners choose between R&Ring the front bar versus a sphygmoidoscomy and decide for the latter.

Beyond that, the through-body type sway bar provides better anti-roll geometry, including provisions to adjust the drop links on each end for improved chassis tuning.

One doesn't have to invest in race-quality sway bar products. The Weltmeister is fine for street use. It's adjustable, is offered in various diameters and is relatively easy to install. The only plus with a late bar might be the price (cheap) - many bars are available from many owners who have switched over.

BTW, I have one for sale, cheap (late type). Interested?

MHO,
Sherwood
