Next step is to try this dual plane wing on my car.
Got it from a friend in the UK - from Mark Webber's F1 car:

The danger with a dual-element wing is that for it to actually work the way it's intended you need a design that's specific to the conditions behind a particular car. You can't use it like you'd use a generic airfoil. (Of course, thousands of Asian-import owners do it anyway.)

The people I talked to about it said it could work -- but you'd need to do wind tunnel testing (or at least computer simulation testing) with not just a generic 911 -- but with the actual model and shape of 911 that the wing would be running behind.

But there's no harm in putting it on and trying it.

There is a ton of old Williams F1 stuff, like the wing above, on ebay right now. I guess they are clearing out the old gear.

I intend on getting it up high enough that any specific model stuff wouldn't be a problem. Only concern is the angle of attack - and I have that data -

Jack, do you have a link for your specific dual-plane wing information?

Jack,
Can you confirm the trailing edge has a true ~10mm "lip" on it, and thats not just an extraneous line in your aerofoil cross-section? I'm about to mount my skin...

thanks

It's a 1/2-inch L-shaped piece functioning as a Gurney flap. It's not the same material as the exterior skin, and it adds some structural strength.
