Do we have 1 or 2 O2 sensors on an 88?...

my HC's were way too high at my emissions test, thinking I have a bad O2 sensor.

There is also an oxygen sensor relay that you should change while you're at it. Around $20

Why, is that a troublesome relay? Haven't heard of that particular problem...

I'm going thru the same thing, high HC's. It's another link in the chain to solving the problem and as long as you're ordering parts the cost ( $20 is high, they can be had for 10-16 dollars) saves a second trip/phonecall if the sensor doesn't solve the problem.

Relay for an oxygen sensor on an 88????? huh

That coax is supposed to go directly to the DME.

The heater for the OXS is an un-fused lead off the DME relay that also powers the fuel pump. It should be easy to tell if that is working.
