Antenna mast? Need help.
Uh oh.
My car (82 targa) is in the shop for some repair work. My antenna got broken off. The OEM part from Porsche does not match the one in the car. Evidently it has been replaced at some point in the past with an aftermarket unit. The antenna mast that was on the car has a white plastic cable with little 'teeth' on it for traction. Anyone know who makes it? Are there a limited number manufactures of aftermarket retractable antennas?

Sounds almost like a Hirschman antenna I had. Probably buy a universal replacement unit $40-50 if you wish (they have some units with VERY small motors that will fit just about anywhere. I've seen them for 1/2 that price on EvilBay

Most power antenna use the same white platic toothed cable. Try using the mast from a later model unit. I just repaired a unit from a '77 that way.

I just ordered a new mast from fcp groton off of ebay. You should call or email them directly to get the correct one though.

Thank you guys. It was a Hirschmann unit. This saved me some serious time.
