I have exchange email with him in the past few days. he has a bunch of my engine parts to rebuild and refurb. I know he has some distractions in his life at the moment. hope to hear from him on this thread soon.

Steve is alive, last I checked about a week ago.

He's very good at turning a 2 minute phone call into a 37 minute phone call and I accidentally end up learning way more than I planned to. But I have never once regretted speaking to Steve.

At this point, If I find any spare money, I just send it straight to him and he sends me "care packages" with items I didn't realize I needed. It's great.

That last part was a lie, but if anyone wanted to start a cool air-cooled care package company where we pay $50ish per month and you send us all kinds of aircooled 911 trinkets, jewelry, reading material, german chocolate, etc., I'd actually pay to be a member.

Bonus if its from a well known porsche indy shop like Rennsport Systems.

and I thought it was ME that turned a 5 min call into 30 with Steve. love talking to that guy.

actually I sent him a gift recently. made two of these from bad cyl from my 930 project, got a replacement set of P&Cs. thought the 930 guru needed one.
