Question source for new OEM windshield?

I have been searching around, both on this forum and on the internet, but I am having a hard time to find a good (i.e., not awfully expensive) source for a windshield for my 85 coupe (w/integrated antenna). I currently have a Sekurit (TM) installed, but I have read somewhere that Sigla (TM) also makes those, albeit not as strong as the Sekurit (TM) (any comment?). I have found one with ProSource Glass International, but at $450.00 + shipping that sounds a bit steep (I found those guys on e-bay and also realized that they have been advertising a bit here on this forum too). Anyone can point me towards a distributor of those windshields w/prices if possible? I want to buy the windshield but not get it installed; will do that during the restoration of my windshield frame and my shot headliner . Right now my windshield has a small star (about 1" across) and I want to have one on stand-by when I decide to tackle this project (and I've read that it's not uncommon to break a windshield upon removal); sort of killing 2 birds with one stone If all goes well I could have the original (I think) windshield repaired and either sell it back or keep it as a spare
Any lead greatly appreciated -did I mention that I love this forum! Thanks to all who provide so much needed help. Best,

P.S. I am aware that one can get a plain (i.e., cheap) non-OEM windshield w/o antenna and install an antenna under the dash, but I want to retain my 911 as stock as possible (I know some might say that this is useless since this model will apparently never reach the collectible status, but this is what I want ).

- Olivier

IMHO - get the correct windshield - not sure for your year but the 2 OEM brands I seen mentioned are Sigla and Sekurit. Re. getting one you can call Saint Gobain and see if they can give you a part number and distributor info. If you can locate the guy in your area that does the Porsche dealer glass or used to he will know where to get the parts. The only consistant info. I see is to not get Safelite glass. I tried to see about PPG glass only to find out they don't carry for my car anymore and really never even made the glass just distributed it. The DOT number on the glass is the key to who made it if there is no name. The cross reference is on the web.

The ProSource price is tough to beat. I have one from them sitting in my living room awaiting install. Nice folks. The glass arrived well-crated and as far as I can tell, perfect condition.

The only weird thing is the antenna exits in the center, so I'll need to extend the antenna wire.

Carnutzzz: did you get the Sigla or Sekurit? I haven't checked about where my antenna exits, but it seems like the connection is taking place somewhere on the winshield frame from what I read somewhere (here maybe). Anyone familiar with this? I may try ProSource but I still need to convince myself that $500.00 is justified for this one 1" star (which I may want to just fix before biting the bullet). Thanks for the info guys.

I just bought one from Richard. I got the non-Sekurit one without the antenna. I already have an electric antenna in the fender and certainly don't need two antennas. You can pick that one up yourself in Norcross and save shipping. I don't think he has the Sekurit ones in Norcross so there would be shipping for the OEM one.

Hey gang sorry for not keeping-up with this post.

I see Richard's info has been posted.

I paid $530 shipped for the Sigla I believe.

MM83targa- you're welcome to come to the house and see it prior to installation if you'd like. I'm in Norcross- Peachtree Corners to be exact.
