Green wire source

I need to replace my green dizzy>cdi wire because mine doesn't have the 2 pin plug, it goes straight to the cdi. I have the replacement piece for Pelican but it requires a plug. However, my wire has heat damage for about 12" so the replacement is too short. I need a source for the green coaxial wire (or better) so I can build a new harness. Has anyone been able to locate a source?

I can't believe no one has ever had to replace this wire!

I believe you can buy it

I think you can get it from Pelican or vertex auto. It comes in a 24" length as well, I think it may be the one for the 928 Porsche....do a little calling and ask around.....I honestly don;t remember who I bought mine from. Just remember it is a coax cable so the electrical connectors will have to be fabbed up to make it work properly.

The easiest and least expensive replacement coax [with PVC jacket] would be RG-174 @ $41.13/100 ft from Allied Electronics and many other sources. The RG-174 coax probably won't last any longer than the factory cable, since neither is rated for the underhood temps of a 911 ... but, when you consider how long the cable lasted on most of these cars, I tend to think most would say good enough! For the price difference ... you could make up spares, keep one in your trunk, and give away or sell a few to SC/Turbo owners!

RG196 with Teflon jacket and higher temperature rating is 3.7 times the RG174 price from Allied.

I am not sure where you would get the connector that plugs into the distributor, but there may have been a posting in one of the 'green coax' threads for it ...

The one-piece replacement cable from Permatune is obscenely priced at around $250!!!
