Anyone Put Cruise Control on 3.6L Conversion

Has anyone put cruise control on a 3.6L conversion in an SC or Carrera? I would like to have cruise again.

Thanks,

I did my 3.6 transplant into my '80SC back in '92. Not a lot of help available back then from other Porsche freaks, sure could have used this forum back in those days!
Given the mostly uncharted territory, I had to fabricate lots of stuff and use my imagination. No one told me I couldn't add an on engine oil cooler or adapt the SC
cruise control, so I did them both!
Seriously, hooking up the SC cruise control was fairly simple. I just fabricted a metal "ear" to bolt to the throttle body lever. It works perfectly.
I'll try to take some pics and post later.

Uwanna,
So you used the SC cruise control system? Pictures would be great!

Great topic, thanks for bringing it up - I'm contemplating a 3.6 conversion when I finally wear out this 3.2, and cruise is important for me to avoid speeding tickets. Now that you have me thinking about it, it seems the 3.2 cruise runs off the transmission speed signal, so it should be independent of the DME. This means you only have to adapt the mechanical linkage to be able to open the 3.6 throttle body, sounds fairly simple.

Here's the pics

Here's the pics of my hookup of SC cruise control to a 3.6 motor. The "ear" that I adapted to the 3.6 accel lever I believe came from a 3.0 or 3.2 motor. I cut it off the
early motor and bolted it to the 3.6 lever.(best I can remember, as it was 21yrs ago LOL). The Bowden cable from the cruise vacuum canister feeds thru a cruise control standoff bracket on the 3.6 motor. Cruise control then works just like a 3.0 or 3.2. As Chuck H remarked, The SC cruise control is completly run off speedometer pulses and has nothing to do with the ECU.
