A detailer would probably just have at it with a buffer and some compound, then polish it back out. Ok for a one-time deal maybe, but not regular maintenence. I've never had a problem with bugs, but I wash my car at least once a week and wax at least once a month. Extra coats on the hood and bumper, too.
