Trouble installing heater cables

I'm replacing the cables to my new heater boxes. I greased them and started feeding them through the heater cable guides from the interior of the car. On both tubes the cables stopped feeding in. Something is obstructing them with about 1- 1/2 feet to go. Can anyone help me with this?

You need to crawl under the car to guide them thru the flexible tubes that run from the center tunnel to the flapper boxes.

pull the flex tube off the tunnel tube and feed the cable out an inch or so, then use needlenose pliers to get it started into the flex tube, then push the flex tube back onto the tunnel tube and continue pushing it through from the front.

Thank's for the suggestions. I had given up on anyone answering. I managed to get them further in. They only have about 8 inches to go. Do I just pull the plastic guide tubes out of the metal tubes near the trans.?

yes, the last obstacle is where they come out of the flex tube at the heater valve bracket. the black plastic cover needs to come off the very end of the hard tube on the bracket. it has a small hole that the cable usually doesn't hit dead center.

My cables didn't make it that far. One of my plugs (PP calls it a grommet) is missing, and the cable hasn't gotten that far. I'll try pulling the plastic guide tubes off. I should be able to feed the cables through then. I didn't realize how they were attached to the metal tunnels upstream. I guess they are just pressed on.

By the way, when I took the levers off all the pieces fell out. There's a small picture in the Bentley, but the parts pictures in Pelican shows them much more clearly.
