heater problem - continuous heat
hi-
i am experiencing continuous heat in my 85 carrera. the a/c is working fine, but even when a/c is on high, the heat is almost unbearable. the slide controls work, as far as redirecting the heat, they just won't shut it off. where do i start??? ------------------ bw |

I have an '85 as well. Is the blower knob in between the two seats off?
If it is then the servo motor went bad. Some of the people here and on rennlist have changed the electric servo actuated to the old style lever actuated. Good luck Nicholas |

I have a 86 911 Cab that had the same problem. Check the heater flapper boxes
under the car. There are two that control the heat that goes into the cabin. Mine were rusted open and would not operate correctly. You may need to just adjust them to get them to work properly. Good luck! Huey58 |

Right. The valves on the heater boxes, located kind of in the forward part of the rear wheel wells, shoudl be all the way open. This allows the hot air to escape. If you're getting heat, one or both are closed or partially closed.
