Console Deleters—What did you do for the holes in the carpet?
I pulled my console and now have several holes in the carpet. Most of them are in a vinyl panel on the tunnel carpet. Has anyone just had a piece of pebbly vinyl sewed on top of the old one?

I deleted the console in my '80SC. What I did was rob my '71 of that tunnel carpet piece (for the time being) and installed it in place of the SC tunnel carpet piece.
I don't know what color your interior is but if it's black you could go to the local auto store and buy a roll of black perlon carpet. Trace the shape of the OEM SC carpet on the perlon carpet, cut it out, and install. This is basically what I have in the SC and it looks pretty nice. |

I have black carpet, but isn't perlon what's in the trunk?

Probably. Go down to the auto store and see what they have for black carpet. It is slightly different than the rest of the interior OE carpet - but it looks much better than the OE carpet with holes, etc. left from removing the console.
