I can't imagine ever going back to stock. I have Ben's 1-in 1-out with a SW chip and euro pre-muff. The sound is still fantastic after 2 years.

From inside the car it is not too loud. It is just right.

The sound bouncing off of traffic, guard-rails, etc at full throttle is really loud, but great!!!

I see someone has resurrected my old thread, so now I guess I can answer my own question. This past Spring I went through with the exhaust upgrade as planned (M&K 1/1, Fabspeed, SW chip) and I have been very happy with it. Just like most everyone else has said regarding volume, it is loud enough to be pleasing (at least to my ear) but not to the point of being obnoxious. I highly recommend this combo as an upgrade as it not only makes the car sound better, but perform better too mainly due to the chip.

I have SSIs and a M&K 2-in-1-out since last November and have put about 1800 miles on this setup. When I drive by, dogs howl, women grab their small children and run in the house, and old ladies are frightened. But men from 8 to 80 stop in their tracks and lose total control of their salivary functions and begin to drool uncontrollably all over the tops of their shoes. I love the sound. However, all is not well in paradise. My wife is very much a car person and has always enjoyed using the car. She's not prudish regarding exhaust noise......prior to the SSIs and the M&K, I had a 1-in-1out M&K on the car with a cat and stock heat exchangers. It had a nice growl, but VERY subdued compared to the present setup. My wife has found this present exhaust setup quite objectionable and hardly ever wants to use the car anymore. I feel badly about this, not so much regarding giving up the sound, but more and more of my usage of the car is solo. She isn't forcing the issue in any way, but I'm going to have to go back to a quieter muffler, possibly a Gen-4 M&K. Hence, probably some time next week, I'll be offering the 2-in-1-out M&K up for sale. Oh, well.

Steve

Maybe I am being a wuss... I just started the car up again and either I am getting used to it or it may be mellowing a bit? I did my normal "do I need a more quiet muffler test" with my 5 year old son today. I told him it was loud and to jump in the car. Then fired it up. The test is whether or not he plugs his ears, he didn't.... I know, real scientific right?

don't get me wrong, this thing is absolutely mean sounding, but a little loud.

cheers
