I completed this last weekend and I must say that it has been much more pleasant driving my P-car when the top and windows are up.
This was my original plan: ![]() Unfortunately the unit was just too big. I had all the connections sized properly so that I could (in my dreams) use the original ventillation hoses without cutting any. Well it just wouldn't fit due to the angles of the connections between the fresh air blower and the passengers side flapper box and their spacing. So I had to go with my back-up plan. Here's the background. I purchased a passenger seat from a guy up in Sonoma about four months ago. Great guy. When I got there he started looking at my car and telling me about it. Due to the conversion, I have a ton of different year parts and so forth. He taught me several things. He also gave me several extra parts for the car that he thought I needed, which was very much appreciated. He figured my center dash vents didn't work because the A/C was removed (correct) and he figure the guide to the vents was also removed. Well this is the one he gave me. ![]() I tried to install that one, but it wouldn't fit with the adapter at the input to it (due to proximitiy to the blower motor's housing). So I cut the adapter off of the vent pipe and used it to connect the hoses to. I was hoping not to cut any, but since the adapter isn't physically secured to anything the pressure of the compressed hoses were too much. So I cut the hoses to fit onto the adapter. ![]() Results were as expected. My dash center vent now blows fresh air, though it shares its supplied air with the passenger side. So the passenger side has a less air supplied to it than it had in the past. Oh well, I usually don't have passengers, and when I do the top is normally down. I hope this helps someone who is also A/C less and doesn't want to add weight by installing another fresh air motor. -Matt

Hi, Matt,
You said, "I hope this helps someone who is also A/C less and doesn't want to add weight by installing another fresh air motor." It means that you have a fresh air blower in the smuggler box, or anywhere else? let me know Thank you |

Mathieu,
What Matt is saying ......when he deleted his evaporator, and its blower motor, he directed the air from the fresh air motor through the primary AC vent above the radio. Last edited by kuehl; 06-01-2013 at 07:40 PM.. Reason: ,,, |

Bumping an old thread yet again.
My euro 3.2 has had its a/c removed, and I'd love to get the center vent working as described. Any advice about what parts to buy? It works great when the hood is unlatched :-)

Looks like the first pic in the thread is HomeDeposit or Louse parts,
Copy the pic, send it to your cell, and walk down the plumbing isle |

He didn't use the black plastic parts in the first picture (his original plan). The key item is the light colored three-way T-ish looking thing that is not a hardware store item. Was that a gift from the guy at Sonoma?

Bumping this once more, since it appears to be so easy, deceptively easy? That light colored 'three-way' seems to be a part that was already on his car, he just re-jiggered it changed its dimension and location.... et Voila! Do I have this right?
