question about an 87 clock.
I bought a used OEM clock from a Pelican member. After installed, I found that the white arm never move. According to the response from the seller, the white arm is not for Second but rather it is for the trip. Does anyone know how does this trip arm work?
Thanks.

According to what I have been told, you set the white arm at the departure time. Kinda silly but it does work.

that means the white arm must be moving? On my clock, the white arm never move. If the seller is correct and the clock I bought works, there must be some positions the white arm must be at in order for it to move.

It is simply a reference point that you set so that when you arrive at your destination you simply look at the white indicatior which reminds you when you left. It is not mechanically driven. You could just as easily put a piece of tape on the face of your clock to mark your time of departure. It's really kind of cheesy, but that's in essence how it works.

The white arm does move by means of rotating the central knob on the clock face. It's just that it's movement is not mechanized and it will not change position unless you change it yourself. Yes, it's silly,

not silly - basic, simple, easy enough to understand.

There was the white clock needle (weiße Taktgebernadel) engineering team and many, many blower (Gebläsemotor) teams. With consultation from VDO, Behr Group and Bosch engineers.

The Prosche engineers are currently working on a manual marker for their digital clocks.
A bit harder task than the analou marker, but I have every confidence that tey wiil succeed. When done, it will be an an expensive extra cost option but well worth it.
