Lowering 964--just to verify

In searching, it seems that I can't lower my 964 the same way my 3.2 was lowered. There is no ride height adjustment?
I had a pro lower the 3.2, but I was going to try and do the 964 myself with the same setup. I have to get new springs?

Tyson suggested we could take off some part of an inch using the corner balancing bolts, but that's all.

Verify this if you can, because even though the handling of the car is super, it does look a little too stilted for my liking.

To lower the C2 you will need lowering springs. Were as the carrera is lowered by adjusting the torsion bars.

i have H&R and bilstein sport on my 91 c2 cab.
lower the car about an inch. work great for me.

Here's my '91 C4 before and after I installed Eibach springs:





The biggest challenge was getting the lower mounting bolt off the rear suspension. Took a 48" cheater bar and a loud CRACK, but it came out.

An impact driver is great to use to remove the top nut from the front strut.

Stock 964's have adjustable spring perches. From the Factory, there is about 1-1/2" of threads showing, which will allow you to lower it with stock springs quite a bit.


But the H&R progressive lowering springs and some Bilstein Sport shocks are the way to go. Much better handling, and the ride characteristics actually feel better, IMO.
