Why did steve Wong do this.......????
Thanks to this forum, I have now decided how far I will go with my car mods/upgrades.
I have concluded that apart from suspension & brake upgrades, exhaust, heat backdate and A/C delete, I am not prepared to substantially modify the car. I will happily peform internal upgrades/fixes that will enhance the cars' performance and reliability and correct design faults. These include: DME chip, rear sway bar mounts, headlight relays, TTE's, bump steer kit, sensor upgrades etc. etc.... It appears that Steve has a similar strategy with his car which is why I am wondering about the benefits of the following: I hope Steve doesn't mind but I've cut and pasted the following from Steve's Pelican page. I've edited out the mods he's done that doesn't interest me eg. stereo stuff. "Extruded Honed manifolds, bored throttle body, ported heads, Performance Aire bulkhead vent." I have read the following book and the author concludes there ain't much to gain on a stock road car with Motronic. I am intersted in opinions on the benefits of these non-obtrusive mods. and the approximate expense. Hopefully Steve may chime in with his experience of these mods (presuming they weren't already done to his car by P0) ![]()
