Great pavers! I couldn't afford pavers so I went with colored & grooved concrete.

Red car looks good with snow on it tho.....

Now let's hear the story of how that big 'ole house survived development, even tho it's in the middle of Dallas (?)

Thanks guys. The duck usually stays covered but I was late for a flight the other day.

The house, named "Summerhill" by it's original owners, is 70 years old and in area area 10 minutes northeast of downtown on the east bank of White Rock Lake. This small neighborhood has been off the radar of developers and is experiencing a quiet revival of late. Houses don't come up for sale very often and when they do are usually sold the first day. I was extremely lucky and found Summerhill through a friend of a friend. It wasn't officially on the market so there was no competition. It started life with ~1500 ft and has been added/expanded to~4000 ft. Part of that was enclosing the garge with the old original servants quarters. That's the part in front of my truck. I plan to reconvert that into a garage/workshop next spring. Cool trivia about the house is that Gen. George Patton stayed over here and was friends with the owner(a colonel) just before WW2. I look forward to digging up more history on the place. Here are a couple more shots.

Looks just great.
Quick tip: fold your mirrors forward. They will stop in a position parallel to the side of the car, and there is a "stop" in the movement where the spring is not under tension. When folded back, there is no such stop, the spring is under too much tension and the rubber is against the window.
My house has that much snow right now, but the view is different:

Thanks for the comments guys. Any of you are welome any time!

Cliff, we were planning Austin, but a dream job came up for Carol back here. Austin is still on the radar - just a little further out.

George, thanks for the tip. Beautiful place you have!

Nice house Mark. Any ideas on where we can have our next Pelican get-together?
