'2.7' Chrome Engine Grille Script
I am happy, I just received from Pelican Parts the '2.7' Chrome Engine Grille Script that I have order for my car. But to my surprise I did not see any screws and or bolts on the plate. Does anybody have an idea how to mount it on the black engine grill?

What is this trick question? I just went out and looked at mine. There are no screws or brackets. Mine looks as if it is perfectly centered on two ribs of the grille and glued(?)(epoxyed?) to the back of the chrome script piece.

My 1971 car has a 3.0 motor and I didn't want to use the 2.4 emblem that was on the rear grill I bought to replace the overly bent one that was there. When I broke the old one off I found four pins for a better choice of words that were pressed into corresponding hole in the fins of the grill, two holes per bar and I think there was one bar in the middle with no holes. It just snapped out. I mean it was not easy but it popped out. The powder coater plugged the holes when he painted it for me. Donn't take my word for this cause 2.7 might be diff than 2.4 but IMHO they are the same.

I just got word from Pelican parts, and indeed apparently the emblem is glued to the rear grille with some two sided tape.
So just have to find some good sticky tape, to avoid loosing the emblem during breathtaking acceleration?! |
