question: clutch slave rebuild, the circlip.
Has anyone rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder yourself?
I actually bought a new slave cylinder but found that the internal popped out (the circlip popped out after installed, while bleeding). I put everything back in and use a big socket to bang the circlip in place but it popped again after installed/bled. My friend said that once it's popped, I will need to buy a whole new slave because I can never make the circlip tight. Is he right? It will be sad if I have to shell out the $$ on another new slave without knowing if the circlip will stay. To me, I think there must be a way to tighten the circlip since it is designed that way. Does anyone actually did it? Can you share the technique? Why the circlip popped?
