My paypal account was locked after maintaining a perfect record for several years with hundreds of transactions and zero disputes. The reason has never been fully explained to me by paypal.

Go to a local branch for your bank and sign the form to block any ACH withdrawals from paypal. Don't use any credit card except AmEx with paypal. Call your credit card company (if not AmEx) and have them scramble any account numbers you have on file with paypal.

My bank account is a business account that I only use for Paypal. I will change the CC right now and close the business account on Monday.

The buyer has called my cell 3 times and I have 5 snotty emails.....stay tuned.

Go to the bank and ask them for another account - should be real simple and easy. Then switch the PayPal acct to that account...

It's sometimes hard to be totally comfortable with the whole internet sell/buy situation; especially with other countries. "Touch wood", I haven't had any particularly bad experiences... but having said that, I've stuck with just dealing with Pelican itself or the guys on Pelican.

I'm a big believer in "gut feeling"

As a buyer, if you don't have a bank account, then the funds sent can be delayed about 5 days. So without a backup source, it slows down the entire buying process.

- This will work well for those not using bill pay or other ETF. If you have to re-enter 30 bill pay screens all over again, it will probably be too cumbersome.
A good bank can migrate these payments over to a new account within the same branch with no hassles.

Had to actually turn the cell phone off.....the guy keeps calling. I think he's an ex-pat American who lives in Queensland...his addy mentions a Marina.....I'm guessing that "No, I don't think so" is not getting thru to the him.

He's threatening to take action thru paypal.....as a buyer who has his money back and no other issues except not getting the deal he though he was getting and out his money for two weeks....I'm at a loss to see what he can do?

Fish...you have an email.

Think of the problems that guy would have given you if you would have gone through with the transaction. Seems like a typical trouble maker. Just ignore him

Z, sweep any cash out of your paypal ASAP. You never know when or why they will freeze an account and they are not going to tell you afterwards. This guy sounds like a schmuck so he's probably going to make up something good to tell paypal about how you screwed him over.

yes, you're right.....

Just for giggles, I counted the number of calls on my cell. 12 that went unanswered while it was powered up.....no telling how many times he tried while it was turned off.......

For once my inner self talking to me was a good thing.

My account is empty and I'll take an eBay/paypal break.....

It wasn't me, but please don't count the fact he's in Oz against him...we have a hard enough time getting parts without any more antipodian-ism.

Man....lots of paranoia going on here. Have used Paypal for years with a separate checking account and a MC connected to my verified account. I've never had anything but positive experiences with Paypal.

Just thought someone should help balance the scales of justice.
