High pitched AFM whine

Ok guys...a bit of a panic here. Yesterday I removed the AFM on my '88 3.2 to get access to try and fix some oil leaks (no go on that) and then gave up and put everthing back. Now I get a very high pitched whine from the AFM except when I tap on the accelerator. Any ideas?

Bump to get the afternoon crowd. I'm wondering if I should risk driving it home....it seemed to be running exactly as before, just a loud whistle/whine when no load. The instant I touch the gas pedal it goes away until engine no longer under load.
TIA

My '84 gets a high whine this time of year when the engine is cold. It is from the Ambient Air Valve. It goes away when I step on the gas a bit and then after the car is warmed up. In the summer you never hear it. Must be an air bleed somewhere otherwise.

Might want to pull your AFM again and see what hose you missed.

OK, I found one of the cloth vacuum lines that goes from the back of the throttle body over to the group of connections by the oil filter connection. Hopefully that's what was causing the whistle/whine. It seems like a likely solution.
Thanks for the help.
