Please recommend a third brake light...

I've looked through the threads on third brake lights, and seen many different makes.

Can someone suggest a good or their favorite third brake light?

One caveat - I have a rollbar in my car, so I might need a third brake light that can anchor to the rollbar. If the third brake light attaches to the rear windshield, that's also okay.

Thanks

I used a 20-LED strip that I attached outside the roof vents just above the rear window. I couldn't stand the stock location of the third brake light. It was right in the rear view mirror line of sight.

I went with the stock third brake light that mounts high on the rear window on my Targa. Unlike Zoanas' experience, its location doesn't bother me in the least. Installation was easy - the embedded threads explain it all real well.

I too installed the OEM CHMSL and the location doesn't bother me a bit. It's extremely bright. I also have an 8-LED array on the underside of my whaletail, totally self-contained (no wiring--battery powered) that is activated by a mercury switch the instant the switch senses negative Gs from deceleration. The LEDs also "jitter," to make their very bright presence obvious. The LEDs shine through small magnifying lenses and are, of course, only strongly visible from directly aft, but that's all I care about.

I bought one of these: Flashing LED Brake Light

I am very happy with it. Sensitivity adjustments, small, battery operated so no wiring, easily removable, etc.

Not the best picture, but this is a fog light attached to the main hoop of my rollbar, and wired into the brake light circuit. 21W as the brake lights.

The Targa rear window is a much steeper slope, providing a better view out the back. The location of the stock light in the coupe is exactly in the center of the rear view mirror.

I've been looking for a light myself. There was the one Jack Olsen did that looked easy and had a clean fit. I'll try to dig up that thread.

Edit...

Here are a couple..

Some had the third light mounted at the bottom of the rear window, and some at the top. The one at the top seems to always sit right where I'm looking for cops sneaking up from behind. It doesn't look too intrusive in this pic, but it really made a huge difference in rear view when I removed it.

I think I like Jack's set up best of all. Plus, it's only about $20 from Autozone.
