MFI and new SSI's

FYI

I had posted a while back asking about the name and purpose of the regulator housing that sits in front of the air intake on an MFI engine. Mine is missing. Warren replied that it is yet another emission control device, and he had removed his.

Well, I've just received my new SSI heat exchangers. The MFI version has an outlet on the left side at the top of the heater hose outlet for the preheater hose, but does not have the shroud over the exhaust pipes and the outlet for the regulator housing hose. So if you buy a new set of SSI's for MFI, you have no choice but to remove your regulator housing.
