No such thing as a stupid question?

Hi all,

I have a Porsche roller coming in next week that was an abandoned car project.

The doors and fenders are in the car and the last owner lost the bolts.

I'd like to pickup some bolts so I can get the doors and fenders hung back on when it arrives.

My question is, what is the size and length (as you would buy them at your local parts store) of the bolts for the door hinges as well as the fenders and in what quantity?

Thanks much!

Cheers
A

There are never stupid answers either then! I don't know. But I'd give a dismantler a call and have them send you used original bolts. That way you have the correct look and the correct size at the same time. It will not be significantly more $ than going to the hardware store. I frequent www.partsheaven.com , a great place.

That's a good spin... Actually, on that note if someone has a set of the bolts I'm looking for, send me a message and I'll pay for shipping.

A,

Yes, that's even better. Place a WTB or WTR (want to receive) message on the classified board!

The door hinges use a 8mmx20mm bolt

Fenders take a 6.3mx19mm self-tapping screw

I use factory or Wurth hardware, only.

In the history of this board, there has been only one stupid question. Yours was not it. Actually, your question was exactly the type of question this board was designed to answer. Trust me, someone out there knows the answer off the top of his head and knows where to get a whole drawer full.

Oops, I'm a bit late. I see Steve has already done just that.

By the way, the only stupid question I am aware of being asked on this board is whether Armor All on the treads of your tires might contribute to losing traction and getting into an accident. The answer is yes. Do a search for that thread and you'll never feel embarassed about asking a question here again. You might also laugh harder than you've ever laughed before.

Welcome to PPBBS!
