I put it into my mistress!

the engine.... its finally in!

i went to PKASSO's shop on friday and the engine is in.... just need to get it dialed in with a few adjustments and i getting the mistress back on the road again. it sounds great and sure looks puuuurrrddyyyyyy!

she has been down for a while but sometimes patience pays-off and so far im really happy.

when i got my car origially it about 85K miles on it and i got 300k miles out of it and 15 years later i had to retire my old gal.......

now i have another 74 engine with less than what i originally had when i just got it, this one has 70K miles on it.

nothing fancy a stock 1974 2.7 engine.

i painted the engine bay with a new sound pad and it all looks clean and together once again.

a big thanks out to PKASSO for taking the time to go through the engine and giving it a once over and into the car.

PKASSO and his work.

PRE-H2O,

Beautiful ride you got there. 300K... wow! That is amazing. I hope mine goes that long.

I have a request, I am currently on another thread about the engine lid seal and came across your pictures through another member. I was noticing that you do not have the engine lid seal currently installed on your car. Could you please take some close-up photos of the clips that hold the seal? Mine are missing - having been removed by PO for reasons unknown, and I would like to rebuild. If you take the pics, I would appreciate a side shot and front shot with a measuring stick in the picture or some other reference.

There is absolutely no hurry on this.

Thank you.

Tschuess,

hey art! thanks for the comment!

tschuess,........ thanks for the props brotha!.... yup 300K,... just take care of your car and it will last..... seriously these engines are amazing.

as far as the pictures,...yes i can take them no problem, it might be a few days as i dont have my car back yet but i think i should get it back in a week or soo..... i would be happy to do that for you,..... besides it gives me a reason to post pictures! hehehe

i have the seal, but i removed it as i cant get it to seat well, im not sure why it doesnt seat the way it was supposed to. also with the new decklid (whaletail) it was a harder to seat so i left it off.

please remind me and i will be happy to take a few close-ups.
