1/10 scale 934 RSR R/C car

I recently became aware that Tamiya will reissue the 1/10 scale 934 RSR R/C car kit sometime in late January 2007. This is timed to commemorate Tamiya's entry into the radio control market with the very same model 30 years ago.
This revamped version will run on Tamiya's Ta05 chassis which is a belt-driven AWD and can run at scale speeds in excess of 300 MPH.
I am led to believe the kit will be available in either molded green plastic resin to recreate the Kremer racing colors or as a paintable polycarbonate body shell. Complete decals come with the kits.
You can log on to the Tamiya USA website to check out the details. This is a limited run kit so if you want one, you better be ready to order when they are released.

I am in no way affiliated with Tamiya and this is not spam; I just thought some of you Porsche guys might be interested...

This is great! I was just thinking about that model yesterday. Thanks for the heads-up.

I'm an R/C airplane guy but when I saw this model I knew I had to have one, I vaguely remember seeing one in the display case of a long-gone hobby shop in my youth.

I'm an RC plane guy, too (electric and glow) and have never had an RC car. But I remember that Tamiya Porsche model from the ads in my collection of Model Aviation magazines from when I was a kid. Glad to see Tamiya respecting tradition in this regard. That Porsche model was (is) the gold standard.

I might buy two, depending on the price - one to play with, one to keep until they go through the roof on ebay. It's really cool looking, a great subject for R/C and 1/10 scale is a huge, fast toy. All Tamiya's kits are incredibly detailed and well-appointed. I came by the ad by accident, I was waiting for the hobby shop guy to get off the phone and was flipping through a mag on the counter.

My goodness! Everything with a Porsche name attached to it is expensive!!

I'd rather have them reissue the 1/12 scale plastic model.

And whats with the AWD? When did Porsche put AWD in the 934? Maybe it was the secret 934.5.9 version. :-)

Gumba,

You're right. Tamiya is introducing a whole series of 934s!

This is the one I want:
Tamiya 1/12 R/C 934

Hope is substantially less than $799.
