Are you talking about the fuel distributor?

Sorry for delay yes in answer though,
fuel distributor, commonly reffered to as metering head (UK) My car had a top-end rebuild carried out, but came back with more than the occasional puff of smoke we all know & love. Back it went for further investigation, during which time fuel was discovered squirting out one #3 exhaust valve. (Exhaust removed for inspection) An exchange for new injectors failed to rectify indeed a replacement meter was sourced second-hand in order to eliminate problem, but its age and subsequent condition caused smoke all the time (as opposed to intermittent) A new unit has apparently cured this unhappy quirk, and if it continues to start up in a satisfactory way, I shall collect it from Mr Spanners in a day or Two. Now, I've trawled Porsche forums for this sporadic smoke (fuel) to no avail over recent weeks, the nearest comparison I've made is both 928/944 DME fuel relay playing up. But on an early 911, nothing Hence enquiry. Editerd to mention; IF Tuthills Banbury UK had bothered less with contents of cash register and more with this particular car in the first place I would'nt have had to have their lacklustre work corrected Thanks for that ![]() ![]() ![]()
