Blinged up my ride. What d'ya think?

Hi all.
Happy Xmas etc. Thought I'd show you the results of my latest little project...chromed wheel arches! The final finishing touch I always wanted on my car! Found them on ebay awhile ago, but the trouble was they'd been ripped off a skinny bodied car. Had to re-curve the bottom sections to fit my fatter arches. then re-polished and re-anadised. Quite pleased with the results, gives the car that extra subtle 'bling' and they give extra protection to the edges of the arches themselves. Bargain! Enjoy...

Interesting shade of orange for a '76/'77 model. What color is that?

Hi Mike
The colour's actually VW orange. Took the sample from a camper van. It's not looking it's best right now cos I haven't had the chance to wash it for ages. Just another job 'on the list'

Looks good - that was a factory option -- at least on the early cars.

Since it has a functional advantage, I'm gonna say it is not bling!

I second that--in fact, I think the word, 'bling' ought to be converted into 'b#$%g' like other foul words.
