SparkPlugs and gapping for 76 2.7S??
Anyone have the info on which kind to use and what gapping they need. I pulled mine and they are quite black.

I wouldn't just replace them without fixing what caused them to get that way. Might try replacing your ignition wires and having your mixture set to spec. or you might end up with another set of black plugs.

I have done work on the car since, so I will replace the plugs and see if I have the same problem. I do still need to adjust the mixture though, but I am a little afraid to without the right tool to read the right mixture.

NGK recommends BP7ES copper-core, or Iridium BPR7EIX.
I suggest 0.028" - 0.032" gap.

Kach--Exactly what I had in mind. With a fairly older 2.7 im not gonna chase it. I hope these are auto zone or pep boys plugs.

O'Reilly Auto Parts has NGK copper cores locally for $1.59.

Hey Warren,
I installed the NGK bp7es just now. I was gona attempt the fuel mixture adj but the 3mm I need is longer than I expected so I will wait on that. I disconnected the hose from the dist and it does idle a lot better and no longer dies when I let of the acc pedal but I do not have it plugged, just disconnected. any thoughts?? Thanks Nathan

Nathan,
The vacuum module can be left open ... the rubber vacuum line should be plugged with a golf tee or M5 screw/bolt. Your 2.7 distributor has the same specs as the 2.4 911T distributor in the following thread: distributor lube... The optimal timing for your engine is probably 1974 specs, which is the same as for the 1973 USA 911T, i.e. 5° BTDC at 900 rpm idle without the vacuum module connected.
