Removing heat exchangers - clockwise or ?

I nedd to remove my heat exchangers to perform some work. Do the nuts go counter clockwise to remove?

Thanks.

Yes. You should apply heat to the nuts for several heat-to-cherry-red/cool down cycles with a rosebud tip on a oxy/acetylene torch, or Mapp-gas, or propane torch ... before trying to loosen the nuts. Heat should be applied to the nut, avoiding the studs as much as possible. Try to tighten slightly before turning counterclockwise to loosen. The barrel/Allen nuts can be rapped with a mallet or hammer to 'shock' before trying to loosen, but the hex nuts do not have enough room to do this, and don't hit from the side!!! When you reinstall the heat exchangers, use anti-seize compound on the studs.
