There must be some type of misunderstanding here.
I do not see how and why anybody would think I would be trying to

"recover the full cost of my project on eBay".

I have used and enjoyed the car for 10 years and just like most new or old vehicles unless it is some type of collectable there is a certain level of depreciation to be expected. I wouldn’t buy a new car, use it for ten years and then expect to get all my money back either. This being a conversion I actually new from day one it would be fairly difficult if not impossible to recuperate most of my money. I really did not care because I built the car to keep and enjoy. In most cases people don't even expect to get back half of their money. I set my reserve price on ebay at $35.000 which clearly is the minimum price I would sell the car for. How can anyone misunderstand that?! The beauty about an online auction versus a regular car ad with a popular item is that even though I would sell the car for as little as $35.000 it can and most likely will exceed my asking price. So, one more time:

did I say I want to recover all my money? No.
Would I like to recover all of it? Sure, wouldn't anybody? Is it realistic? Obviously not. That's why I put alot of time and work in presenting the car the way I did so I can hopefully recover "as much as possible" but in the very worse case I will take $35.000.

SCtoTurbo, ignore if you can the resentment that seems to be scattered here and there in this thread.

Laugh at others? WTF is that about? I think you have only earned the right to laugh at yourself for poor planning.

Andy, beautifully executed project!

Ditto. Obsessive projects are the speciality of many in this community, and you have trumped many folks efforts with your full court press. Bravo, I say to the voyage and the effort.

I agree. I personally like it. This car isn't for everyone. But then most of our cars (fortunately) fall into this category, one way or the other.
