Engine removal issues

A few weeks back my rubber centered clutch disk gave way and I am now in the process of repairing it. The problem is that I can't get the engine and transmission seperated. I am pulling the engine only and everything is disconnected including the shift linkage and clutch arm pin, and I still can't get the two apart. I fear that some debris from the clutch may be wedged in there making it difficult to get the engine off the transmission. Any ideas? I am contemplating removing the four studs to free the engine a bit. Thanks, Bob

 Engine/trans Separation.....

Bob, Have you removed the clutch positioning lever? This controls the shaft that hold the clutch release fork. It is a lot convenient to remove/install the trans and engine bolted together IMHO. Tony

What Tony said + you really have to work on it to get the two apart. I just did mine and we had to pull and "twist" it side to side to get it to work loose.

Did you remove the clutch release fork or is that the clutch arm pin your talking about? Take the engine and tranny out together. I played the same game my first engine drop trying to remove just the engine and I'll never do it again. Once I had the two out together they came apart a lot easier. Same going back in, easier as one unit. Good luck
