So, where does this cabriolet top seal go?

I ordered what I thought were four seals....got six....for my 83 cab. I've since found that 83-85s are the same despite the 83 being a SUPER Carrera....

Anyways, the part 911 561 188 00 described as a "Seal, Top Frame, RT Inner".....and the opposite side xx187 00 LT Inner, don't seem to be on my 83.....

I actually don't know WHERE they go.

Anyone BTDT?

i checked my 87 top and there are two seals above the side windows. the outer is fabric covered and the inner is smooth rubber. they lay right against each other. the outer one goes into a metal channel.

Yeah...I gathered that. I have attachment points for the vertical cloth covered ones that are glued in and the 2 inch wide (Horizontal) flat ones that attach with four screws into the frame top....wierd.....

Gonna research some more.

Thanks for the pic.

Hi Mike, According to my PET, 911 561 205/206 00 are the left and right hood-to-top-of-window seals on an '83, the later cars have the part numbers you quote. Ours look much more straightforward, with these one piece seals. I was gonna change mine earlier this year but stripped the doors out completely and cleaned, lubed and readjusted everything instead, which sorted mine for free. If you want to check those part numbers online, you can do it at mittelmotor here. Cheers, JG
