Warren,
thanks for the suggestion. As much as I would like to get this car, going over this even with a copy of this post on hand will not help much. A father/son automotive project? HA! If my dad even cared about how cars worked life would be so much better. I've told them about the value of parts. They don't care and they say there's no space for it. What a bunch of bull. Here's the thing, Warren, I've got Chinese parents who are like absolute dictators at home. It's either listen to their rules or get the hell out. I've moved out once while arguing with my mom and she demanded after a day that I go back home NOW. Well, I just talked to the seller a little while ago. Somebody put a deposit on the car already, paying in full today. If that doesn't happen he said he'll call me. But then again, my PCA VP told me he knows of a '73 that might be for sale and not too expensive. Gee, life sucks when you don't live at your own home! Thanks to everyone who've contributed! ------------------ Jeff 1976 911S |

Jeff,
I know it's dissappointing but you do have many years ahead to own another 911. Trust me there will be other deals. Besides, everything you are going to learn with your 76' will be invaluable to you when you go to get your next car. It's best to not have to big of goals at the onset. You stand a better chance at suceeding. I also think that when you finnish with the 76' and it looks great you'll gain some respect from the folks. Whether they'll admit it or not, they will appreciate your determination even when its against their advice. So don't worry about this one. You can reward yourself with a new one after you finnish the 76'. Bobby 72TE |
