H5 Headlight Refresh - What Bulbs?

I am planning on refreshing my H5's rather than upgrading to H4 right now. PO relpaced the lenses 12/03 and they look new. I've got the Sucro relay kit on order then need to align my "cross-eyed" headlights.

With the relays, what are my bulb options? Recommendations?

Thanks!

OK, did some searches....sorry if I'm reserecting a worn out topic, but it's new to me. My options appear to be the orig 40/45 that were updated (improved) to 55/60 or jumping to the 80/100 which appear to be ill-advised due to overheating risk.

Sounds like staying with 55/60's is the way to go.

You did answer your own question. Hotter bulbs can melt the H5 plastic housings. Better to stick with stock wattages and wait 'til you get H4 lights to put in higher wattage. That's what I did.

Sounds like what I just completed. I installed the Sucro Relay, then followed the refresh instructions in this thread posted by 87coupe. Great tips! I went with Silverstar 9004 ST (65\45). No cheesy blue tint to them, just nice n white. Be sure to change the moisture absorbent cartridge while you are in there too. Lighting has improved....don't want to drop coin on H4s yet...
