Yes, we read that and remembered it, but you will like 8's and 9's much better and that's probably not what you have.....

JR

Nines? Why? Unless you pull the spacers off theres not much room AND there isn't much of a choice in 16 inch larger than a 245.

Anyways, I've decided to sell the Turbo.....I'm a bit burned out on all the projects that I've built in the last 15 years. I don't need another money pit.

So, if anyone is interested...contact me.

Otherwise it's off to evlBay.

Having owned both a cab and now a turbo, albeit a much different beast than the 79, a 3.6 in a lighter car woudl be hard to beat. Although I do agree with the "the", there are a lot of stickers on the cab.

With that being said, my 92 has been modded and it goes like hell.

I like 9's on the rear mainly because I really like 8's on the front, as opposed to the stock 7's. I'ne never tried 8's on both ends; probably won't, at this point. A 930 needs more front tire than what Porsche thought was optimum. The 9's on the rear offer a little better traction under boost. I run 225/245 section tires, of which there are plenty of choices. There is plenty of room at both ends, spacers and all.

Sorry to hear you are selling the turbo. It's my favorite car, by far. I'll always have at least one in the garage.

Cheers,
JR

This really is a hard decision. But only because the cab is so sorted. I would rather not have a cab, but it's just me. You can sell the cab and put most that $ into the turbo and have most the bad things of the turbo fixed/updated/upgraded. Have fun.

petrolblue83911 01-12-2007 09:24 AM

keep the cab, -you have clearly spent a lot of time and effort into making it what you want, so enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Turbo's are sweet, but you can always get another one, -finding another cab like the one you have will be impossible.

pimp me. ehh.... I think Mike needs to do some tricks down there himself to float my tab for fixing his trannies...

(Turbo)

Keep the turbo since 400hp is just a k27 away.

Steve@Rennsport 01-12-2007 11:13 AM

Keep the stock boost spring since you have 91 octane fuel.

1 bar of boost & 91 CA gas is a recipe for broken rings.

TURBO, TURBO, TURBO!

wisely spoken.

freeing up the exhaust seems to be about the only thing save and then doing some suspension upgrades. But again - you have done all that to the cab already. Why trying to do it again. The Turbo might be a platform for monster HP on a drag strip (not talking about reliability and driveability) but the 3.6-powered cab is a boatload of fun to drive all around. And if you need more HP why not lower its compression and blow it. A 964 Turbo.........

quattrorunner 01-13-2007 09:05 AM

Simple, just lower it's compression;)
You would be the only person with a car quite like it though. Back dated cab with a cage that is trackable with 3.6 turbo!
