911 Read Deck Lid Question (Help!)

I am looking to buy a Porsche 911 C4 rear deck lid for my 1978 porsche 911SC. Would it just replace my old one or are modifications needed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You either have to get the C4 hinges or modify your SC hinges. Do a search on here. I know there is at least one thread of how to do the mods.

Is the reverse true as well? Im looking at a 3.2 Carerra rear deck with whale tail to go on my 964.

The early bodies work with the 964 tail, but not the 993's tail.
