Cooling tin...which way to install on SC?
I have an 80 SC that I recently rebuilt and installed. It is running warmer that I had hoped for and am not sure if I installed the cooling tin correctly. These have the cutouts and I believe they should be installed in a certain direction.
Which way do the cutouts face...towards the crankcase or towards the heads? How much difference would it make if they are installed incorrectly? Thanks. Ron Milliet |

Per Bruce Anderson's Handbook, second edition, p. 176 ... the cutouts are nearer the heads.

Thanks Warren. I am relatively certain I installed them the same direction as the end pieces which would be towards the crankcase. If I remember correctly...the end pieces must face the crank...no real way to mess them up. I will verify tonight.
