Rosewood is a real nice, uncommon color:

How about Bitter Chocolate? Pretty sure most of them were color changed to Red or Black in the 80's

If the factory painted it, even if paint to sample, it IS a factory color! SmileWavy

A great thread, worthy of resuscitation!

I have that color on my 944S2. <br>
<br>
That is not my 911 it is andy_roe's. I just used that photo from the thread on 928 color because of it being a 911 in what I think is a rare Porsche color.<br>
<br>
I have seen that the Panamera comes in a color that is close to Zyclamrot.
I had an S2 cab in that color. It was interesting how depending on the light it would be anywhere from a ruby red to almost black. I was considering getting it painted a more normal color lol.

Here is my Diamond Blue Metallic 87 930. Paint code F5F5. I've had a a couple of people tell me how nice my car is, but that I should really have it resprayed in a factory color to be more correct.

Gris Argent Metallic Silver

Silver might be a common color, but you won't see another like this!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405202889.jpg

I have chiffon white. Seems not so common. Won't let me post a photo. :(

hhackma 07-12-2014 04:45 PM

I have a Marble Grey 1985 911 that I recently had in at the shop at Mayo Performance in Euless Texas. Ed Mayo has been in the business for a LONG time and said he had never seen one that color. I'm good with that!

Maybe Mocha Brown as a least common?

I am somewhat new to the Porsche ownership world but I haven't seen any other Mocha Brown 911's except for this little beauty. Actually I'm not crazy about the color but I've waited 34 years to take my new baby off the hands of my ex step father, but I would have to guess that it's not a very common color. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405212214.jpg

Oops! I stated Mocha brown but mine is actually color code 408-9-1 which is chocolate brown instead of mochahttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405213876.jpg

My favorite rare color is Slate Grey Metallic. Looks blue, grey and brown. This was my former 997's color.

Cassis Red Metallic

I'm going to repost my cassis red metallic. A rare color (1987 only)--it seems to change tone widely under different lighting conditions. I like it more the longer I have the car--its always a big hit at club events.

Wow lots of cool colors in this thread - one of the many things that make 911s so special. Here's mine, Copaflorio Blue, pretty rare, I've only seen one other one in person over the 26 years I've owned it. It's another color that changes alot depending on the lighting conditions.

When I was shopping for my car, I looked at a beautiful 73 targa that was Raspberry, but being a young single guy didn't want a 'pink' car. It was in awesome condition, kinda wish I woulda bought in now....

Yes, it's easy to mistake chiffon for ivory or vice versa.

Green6 05-30-2015 10:24 PM

My car started life as cashmere beige exterior, with cashmere beige interior. Not too common. I don't know who would buy a beige on beige car. It was repainted a few years ago Irish green which is also not common on a short hood, and the interior is now black.
