Pelican oil filter endcap wrench?
PEL-PP903124
Anyone know if this endcap wrench is metal or plastic? In changing the oil today, I busted TWO of the injection-moulded pieces of crap you get from Schucks and the likes. One cracked quite badly at the socket, and the other just striped immediately...the square hole now is round....and they had just given it to me as an exhange. Went looking for a metal endcap wrench, but NAPA and Action both said "they don't make "em any more" I eventually got the filter off and used some Brad Penn aquired locally. Car seems to like it, and it was half the cost of the last oil I used... ![]()

Wolfe - It is metal and works very well! You can borrow mine if you'd like.

From the pic it looks like it's metal IMHO.
also noticed from the description it receives an3/8" ratchet so it must be metal.

Another way...get one of those rubber-band strap wrenches ( like...to get off tight jar lids)...works great...and good for other things too. Doesn't scratch the nearby engine lid framework either for the air-cooled filter locations.
