Well Wayne with Pelican e-mailed me that this is the right part just a new design with longer tubes. Again, if you look at my pic with the red marks where the splines are, my torsion bars would have to be much longer to engage the splines in the longer tube. Besides, the longer tube almost sticks out of the side of the car (see pic), and that's without the bushings installed.

Ulrich

Are the splines cut the entire length of the tube? That's the only way your t-bar would work. And as you said, the tube about sticks out of the fender. In the pic, it doesn't look like you can even put the cover plate back on.

No, the splines are only in the area highlighted in the pic.

Wayne is mistaken ... the Sway-A-Way parts for '69 - '86 models look just like the pics in the Weltmeister site, here:

http://www.weltmeister.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=372

I have had them on my car for 20+ years ... no problems!

I hope you're able to get a refund or the correct parts. Good luck with it.

Could these be Sway-A-Ways for a 930?

FWIW, I've had SAW adj. spring plates on my car for over 10 years. Not hi-tech, but perfectly adequate.

I do appear to be confused by this, I will have to take a look at them when I get them back here. Installed on your car there, they certainly don't look correct at all.

I'll have Scott (catalog man) take a closer look and post his findings here.

You already have the factory adjustable spring plates. You just need to buy the skinny wrench to to the adjusting with.

Thank you Wayne.

OK, I did some investigating and discovered what happened. We ordered the wrong part from our supplier. The part that you received was, as some mentioned here, the G50 part. We will be happy to ship you the correct part and we are sorry for our error -- I'm sure it's maddening. I will change our database so that it doesn't happen again to anybody else.

Sincerely,
Scott

Scott,
Thank you but I have already installed my stock spring plates with Neatrix bushings. At this point please just refund the money.

It's no problem I have ordered from you guys many times before and this was the first glitch.

Scott,
I forgot: I received a return number from Pelican and returned the package via UPS on Thursday.
